I just watched this new TV show and this guy was released from Prison with a GPS system; is it yours? He can only go with in two miles of a certain area.....I like the show! U.S.A. is one of my favorite channels....oh...it would be so nice to watch in HD! LOL

TV's and Flights!

I have been searching the net for good deals on both TV's and Flights. So this morning I found out that the best day to buy a flight is on a Tuesday! I may try that....
I am buying a TV at the right time....December you get the best deals (from CBS Morning Show) so I am looking at the right time.
I decided I need a 32 inch....now the big decision 720 or 1080! Why do they make so many?????
Any ideas?????

Flights...

I am going crazy!
the flights go up and down...
don't know if I should wait...
or will I be upset when the flights are filled....
or do I pay the higher fee...
just buy it because only one stop...
and don't worry about the price...
and get upset when it goes down $200.00....
any suggestions?

Wellness appointment...

Today was Max's wellness appointment he had to go to the vet for his shots!

I haven't had him to anyone since Dr. Bruce died. He was so good! The new vet loved him.....of course as she was taking his temperature (thermometer in his butt...but his tail was still wagging...and he as licking her hand) so good temperature....good lungs sounds....good bowels sounds....crazy Max is a very healthy dog! But sometimes eats poop! :(

The best thing was the bill.....only $48.00!

I have never left the vet with out spending over $100.00. I think I will like the new place....and so does Max!

What a story...

Do you remember the story last year..."Family of 6 from Iowa hit by lightning"? I guess the first story out was "A Family of 4 from Idaho hit by lighting" you know how everyone mixes that up!
Yesterday I talked to Al Jacobs at the Nursing Home...It was his family....Al, Peggy and 4 of their kids. This story is unbelievable.....here it is!

They were on their way to Montana and stopped in Aspen to hike the mountain. They had ran into a couple going up the mountain a man and his wife that was pregnant. He told them to be very careful and if it rained to not stand up on the top of the mountain or stop under a tree because of lighting. They thought OK and it was only misting so they headed up the mountain.
Al ...all of a sudden was waking up and on the ground....He thought how stupid was he....50 some years old and the mountain air had gotten to him and he passed out. Getting up he turned to see Peggy on the ground....she also was very groggy and just getting up off the ground. What are the chances that both of them passed out. Al then turned around a little more to see his one son down...then another son.....then another son....and his daughter all on the ground. He and Peggy ran to each of the children to shake them to wake them. The three boys came too.....but not his daughter....he instantly started C.P.R. he continued until to work on his daughter to get her to breathe. Of course cell phones didn't work....they really didn't know what to do....but again his daughter was high priority!

All of a sudden 4 hikers were coming down the mountain.....one man stayed and the other 3 went down for help! Again no cell phones for help! Luckily the man stayed and helped with CPR...Al wasn't doing it correctly and he took over. Al was running on his adrenalin...worried about his family. His daughter then started to come around...but was really groggy and couldn't walk.

Then out of no where the man showed up (with his pregnant wife)...he said that we couldn't stay on the mountain any longer and had to go down. So then Al and the man who had helped with the CPR carried her down the mountain. The man and his wife went a different way for some reason.

His daughter and one son's shoes were black and the soles gone....they had holes in all of their clothes....

Along the way Al's cell phone would ring and the man with the pregnant wife was in contact with him telling him help was on there way and to keep coming down the mountain. He talked along the way and shared addresses to keep in contact with the man and make sure everyone made it.

About half way down they meet the Rescue Crew and the two kids were helicoptered to Children's in Denver....yes it had only been opened for 3 weeks...Al said it was an awesome hospital...one of the best. The two kids are fine.....

They had to wait for a couple of days until the hospital would release the kids....so Al and Peggy
wanted to call the men that had helped them and also been in contact with Al as he was coming down the mountain.
But the cell phone number didn't exist....now remember he had always called Al and Al never called him. The phone number that the other man had given him was also not a phone number. They thought it was so strange but you know the mountains you just don't have reception.

So when they got home they wrote Thank you notes to the the man on the mountain and the man with the pregnant wife.....they both came back address unknown. Al and Peggy contacted the authorities to have them find those people that helped.....they said no one had seen anyone that they had described ....no one remembered them or had seen them...

Al and his family were the only ones on the mountain. Crazy...do you have goose bumps....

Al and Peggy feel that those two men were "Angels" among us! They had saved Al and his family...

First time excited for a Monday...

My new computer at work will be here about 9:30 Monday....I am so excited! My other computer is sick ...and wants to not work so hard! I really think I wore it out. LOL Not really but it is three years old and I needed an upgrade! I am very grateful!

New drapes and I need your advice!

Now these are just out of the bags.....they have been up for about 2 minutes...they are very lightweight and aren't hanging straight yet!

I need some opinions on whether I want sheers? or no sheers? Or maybe not drapes and just a valance?

But I do think I like the idea of having drapes! I just don't think I like the sheers...but I want your opinions....Please!

The following message given by him; I feel it makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).


2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at using a Neti pot, but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton swabs dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*


5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C. *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

I suggest you pass this on to your entire e-list; you never know who might pay attention to it - and STAY ALIVE because of it -

Getting Ready for a busy week!

Not that I am thinking it is going to be another bad week....I just know it is going to be very busy and not enough hours in the days.....I just have to remember there is always tomorrow....so I think I am ready now!

Saturday....

This is what was in my backyard most of the day yesterday....
because of the neighbor burning leaves...
so today I am hoping to clean my car inside and out....that is if I can breathe in my back yard! I always thought we had a no burning rule!

I hope it is an exciting game....I don't want another stressful one! I can't take it! I love Ella's outfit! She is my little "Hawkeye girl" you know she may want to go to IOWA! Wouldn't that be awesome!

This is it!

I went to this movie tonight....it was different but I really liked it. I was never a big Michael Jackson fan....but did know and listen to his music! What I liked was the behind the scenes of the new production that was never completed!

That concert would of been worth every penny that they would have charged!

I had fun because of the friends I was with.....Misty was waiting for "We are the World" in one part the whole crew and cast were in a circle and holding hands...but never sang! She also wondered why he always wore his pants so high...I told her because he kept grabbing himself...they would just ride up!

I am still laughing....

Sunday afternoon!

Why you didn't hear from me all day...
I spent from noon until 4:45 PM raking leaves....the picture is deceiving...the pile is higher and wider! This year none of the leaves from the back yard blew away...all the rain we had they just dropped! So I made so many trips front the back yard to the street....I lost count!
Tonight I am exhausted and my arms ache! I was thinking I am getting too old...or I need a boyfriend/husband....then I thought again...and decided that I can handle the raking and I am not that old! While raking I was making a list why I should be married....but the list to why I shouldn't be was longer.....LOL
I also planted 30 bulbs of something I bought from a Washington School student...so in the spring I will be surprised...unless I planted them upside down ...so I had an awesome hot shower...soaked my feet....had 2 glasses of wine....now I am ready for bed!

I still feel so honered....for this award!

When I see this picture I laugh...the man on the right had just told me that I deserve more than a plaque for working as an Administrative Secretary for the last 20 years...

I am so shocked of the people that read the newspaper....the Press release and picture was in the CC Press this week and where ever I go I get a "Congratulations" the residents, family members of the residents...to people at church, the staff at the hospital, to people at the grocery store. My 15 seconds of fame! LOL

Then I hear how could you work for Chautauqua for "20" years....I just say I love my job! If it wasn't for the residents and co-workers I wouldn't of been there!
