Some Dr. Oz advice...from Oprah's show

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Oprah show, you too can find inner peace.

Dr. Oz proclaimed, 'The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.'

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Tequila, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.

Pass this on if you know anyone you think might be in need of inner peace.

Max is exhausted...

He had a hard day today....he didn't sleep on the way to his haircut...and didn't sleep on the way home. He was afraid he would miss something I guess! He really hasn't left with me since his last haircut! He does look cute!

Block of the month #1 & #2 ...

Again the blocks look better in person....you can't see the bright color! The stripe fabric in the back ground will be used between the blocks in the quilt and maybe the binding. The border is floral and will have some applique. I only have 14 more to go....I will keep you updated!

The block with more pink was hard...but I think I like it!

The quilt will go in the little bedroom....so don't worry it isn't going to a surprise for anyone! :)

Great movie....

I would go to this movie again....but I got a little sad during a couple of the scenes! I kept thinking of some of the stories that you have told me Alyssa of where you have been and what you have seen...the Laundromat almost made me cry! How sad for so many people that have these kind of lives.....and I feel guilty this morning my cable was out and I was upset....he had never had a bed! When he went looking for his mom...I had flashes of you Alyssa going into terrible homes like what he had to live in! I know it was just a story maybe not all the facts but you do appreciate that some people do help others and not to benefit themselves. Leann was awesome....more guts than I would ever have!

Maxwell...

Maxwell almost decided that he wanted to live with someone else tonight. He ran away and was gone for over 1/2 hour...I walked around the block and called out for him...he didn't come....I figured with the temperature at 15 degrees he would come back soon. He came back by himself with icicles on his face and body! So I think he got a work out during his run...he is in his little bed not even looking at me..he is dog tired!
Almost posted Dog for Sale! But I guess I will give him another chance!

Ella~ 15 months old!

Happy 15 months Ella! You are the Sweetest, Cutest, Happiest, Little Girl! In a couple of weeks...Auntie Lis and Nana Di will get to spoil you for a few days and give Mommy and Daddy a little time for themselves! So get lots of rest and stay healthy....so we can hang out and have fun! We have some surprises for you!!!!!

What a great Saturday!

I spent the day....with my feet up...in the TV room....under a soft blanket... Skyped with Ella...surfed the Internet...chatted with Alyssa.....chatted with Laurie.....watched my DVR...
after a long stressful week of work!
It was wonderful...something I needed!

You know it is cold in Iowa...

Yes ... I had one case of Diet Coke in the trunk of my car....then I had twelve cans of exploded Diet Coke in the trunk of my car....ran to the car wash and vacuumed up the icy soda...learn a lesson!

Thursday night.....Iowa roads...

Red....Travel not advised and closed. Pink....Completely covered.

So I think it means stay home!

Tonight is a wind chill advisory....dangerous temperatures ...very cold! They are pulling the snow plows off the roads....again Why do I live in Iowa?

This cold until next Tuesday.....then it will probally snow again...LOL

Worked late....now relaxing...Iowa game!

40 below zero Wind Chill tonight!!!!!

Today I think....."Why Do I Live In Iowa" .... but I am also Thankful for my new windows and siding....my house doesn't have any drafts anymore and so much warmer! Maybe it will help with the heat bill!!!!!!

Below zero and wind in the wrong direction...

I am getting worried....my dish soap under the counter is all gelled up...that means my pipes are getting close to being frozen....why does it have to be so darn cold! I am too cheap to let the water run....I will just leave the cupboard doors opened tonight....and say a prayer that is all I needed to do! May have to get out the hair dryer in the morning....old house are awesome you just never know what is going to happen next!
